Now Showing

Hooray! Finally some new movies get dumped into the theaters for your viewing pleasure this weekend as 2 new wide releases and another expand as it only has been released in a few places (so it's Academy Award eligible). Let's do this thang!

Bride Wars

The Plot: Two best friends (Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway) become rivals when a clerical error results in their respective weddings being held at the same place... on the same day.
My Thoughts: Are you serious? The only thing worse than a wedding movie is a movie about 2 weddings. I looked up the phrase "chick flick" on Wikipedia and there's a poster for this film. Then I puked.

The Unborn

The Plot: Haunted by strange dreams and recurring ghostly visions, Casey turns to a spiritual advisor for help. Together, they learn that Casey had a twin brother who never made it to term, and that her intended sibling is tied to a curse that requires Casey's death in order to manifest itself in our world.
My Thoughts: Now we're talking! The trailer for this has some creepy moments. I dare guess it's not very inventive or original but it does look fun.

Gran Torino

The Plot: Disgruntled Korean War vet Walt Kowalski (Clint Eastwood) sets out to reform his neighbor, a young Hmong teenager, who tried to steal Kowalski's prized possession: his 1972 Gran Torino.
My Thoughts: This look excellent. It seems the critics and fans both agree as well. This looks like a can't miss... so I won't.
